Outlooks on Platform Science [Second Semester 2023, Tuesday 5th Period (mainly designed for first-year Master’s students)]
Overview and Aims: This course deals with “platforms” that use information and communications technology (ICT) to digitize various forms of information throughout society, to gather such data widely, to accumulate it as big data, and to organize, analyze and share this big data. Students are introduced to cutting-edge topics in this area by professors of the Graduate School of Informatics, faculty in charge of the Distinguished Doctoral Program of Platforms, and speakers from outside the university.

Eligibility Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements (1) through (3).

(1) Proceeding to second year of a Master’s program in one of the following departments/divisions in April 2024:
Graduate School of Informatics: Department of Informatics Graduate School of Agriculture: Division of Agronomy and Horticultural Science, Division of Forest and Biomaterials Science, Division of Applied Biosciences, Division of Environmental Science and Technology, Division of Natural Resource Economics
(2) Seeking to earn a Doctoral degree in one of the above departments/divisions
(3) Registered for the Graduate School of Informatics “Outlooks on Platform Science” course in the second semester of the 2023 academic year.
